人力资源服务公司Automatic Data Processing Inc.（ADP）与穆迪10月30日公布全美民间就业报告：经过季节性因素修正后，10月份民间非农业聘雇人数增加13万人，创下今年4月（12.4万人）以来的最小增幅。
根据彭博社的调查，经济学家的预估中间值为增加15万人。9月份数据则由增加16.6万人下修为增加14.5万人。若以产业别分，在生产部门当中，10月份制造业就业人数增加5,000人，营建业增加14,000人；服务业部门当中，贸易/运输/公共事业增加40,000人，金融业减少5,000人，专业人士/商业服务业增加20,000人。
ADP总裁兼执行长Carlos A. Rodriguez表示，10月份民间就业人口的增幅低于过去12个月的平均增幅（17.3万人），其中小型企业的增幅较前月下滑，但大型企业则是较前月增加。穆迪分析公司首席经济学家Mark Zandi表示，美国政府关门以及国会对举债上限的僵持，令本月原本已经疲弱的就业市场增添更多压力；鉴于就业人数的增幅已经低于15万人，一但持续滑落将会意味着失业率的攀升。
ADP民间就业报告是根据政府部门以外约34万名企业主所提供数据编制而成。经济学家一般会根据ADP的数据来对美国劳工部所发布的就业报告作预估微调。受到美国政府关门的影响，原定本周五公布的就业报告将推迟至下周公布。
