财政刺激协议乐观，美元遭受重挫

12月17日，由于美元大幅度走低，美联储坚持当前宽松货币政策，同时美国国会通过新银轮财政刺激政策的可能性增大，现货黄金作为对冲工具受到多吸引，黄金价格呈持续上涨趋势。
额外的刺激措施，加上美联储继续购买债券和资产，显然推高了金银价格，新的经济刺激计划令美元承压，因会挹注更多资金。
美元指数周四继续走低，盘中一度跌0.56%至89.72，续刷2018年4月以来新低，市场预期将出台更多的新冠救援措施，以及美联储承诺向经济注入更多资金并维持低利率，导致美元下跌，这提振了金价。
美国国会领导人及其幕僚们继续敲定一项近9000亿美元的新冠救助计划的细节，以期最早能在周四公布。白宫一位发言人说，政府对协议即将达成“持乐观态度”。参议院多数党领袖麦康奈尔、众议院议长佩洛西、参议院民主党领袖舒默和众议院共和党领袖Kevin McCarthy直接参与了谈判，从而提升了援助法案可以迅速在参议院和众议院通过的前景。
国会领导人计划将这项大流行病救助计划附加到1.4万亿美元的拨款法案上，后者将在截至9月30日的财年为联邦政府提供运作资金。该法案必须在周五前通过，以避免部分政府停摆，除非国会通过另一项临时拨款法案。
