投资者还密切关注新刺激法案的谈判进展，许多人认为该刺激法案是支持经济的关键。美国参议院定于周五进入8月份休会期，届时关键的就业数据也将出炉。参议院民主党领袖查克·舒默周二表示 ，谈判正朝着正确的方向前进，他仍然认为有希望达成协议。
分析师表示：“舒默的话暗示我们将迎来一揽子刺激计划，一些救济项目不会突然终止。这有助于股市和黄金市场。这意味着美国财政部将借贷数万亿美元，有一天将不得不偿还。”
金价被视为处于买入良机，考虑到新冠肺炎病例数持续高企、美国国会对额外经济援助计划的持续紧张情绪、实际负收益率越来越普遍以及股市估值过高，这并不令人感到意外。
