分析师表示：“如果黄金价格能突破2011年创造的历史最高水平，那么谁能保证它下一步不会达到2000美元？显然，没有人知道它能不能达到，但现在金价显然上涨动力十足，并且基本面仍是看涨。”
分析师指出，鉴于通胀预期将上升，对长期投资者来说，黄金应该是一种大型的分散投资工具。欧元最伟大的承诺之一是，任何政府都不能强制印钞。回溯历史，政府通常会先借钱，多年后用通货膨胀来为这笔借款埋单，从而降低偿还债务的实际成本。资产配置者认为，黄金与美国大盘股呈负相关关系，这使得黄金成为多数投资者长期投资组合的分散化配置。以美元和其他货币计价的黄金正在走高就不令人意外了。
