7月6日，美國方面公佈了市場重點關注的6月PMI數據，數據結果表現大幅好於市場預期，在數據公佈後，現貨黃金在簡單回落後收回當前的跌幅，並快速走出上漲趨勢，延續當前強勢多頭。
具體數據顯示，美國6月ISM非製造業PMI實際公佈57.10，預期50.0，前值45.4。

分析人士指出，該數據表明美國經濟出現進一步改善的跡象。第二季度的數據極為慘澹，但在第三季度，無論是服務業還是製造業，產出數據下降的幅度和就業崗位流失速度都大為降低。經濟數據上的改善預示著美國經濟可能在第三季度重回增長。

美國商務部數據顯示，今年第一季度美國經濟下滑5%，系國際金融危機最嚴重時期以來最大季度降幅。由於疫情持續發酵和經濟大面積“停擺”延續，預計第二季度美國經濟仍可能出現歷史性下降。另據世界銀行預測，今年美國經濟將萎縮6.1%。
過去一周，輝瑞制藥(Pfizer)疫苗的利好消息刺激了股市。市場能夠忽略病例上升的擔憂，因為這次疫情的死亡率較低，而且影響到更多的年輕人。我認為這告訴我們，病情嚴重程度比病例更重要。疫情爆發仍是市場的一大風險。對德克薩斯州、佛羅里達州或加利福尼亞州來說，出現當地的峰值很重要。
