3月 17日，贵金属全线反弹，现货黄金从低点出现巨大回升，刷新日内新高点，由于之前现货黄金连续下跌，吸引了大量投资者从低位买入，同时美联储宣布增加放贷，缓解了市场对资金流动性的担忧。
此前美联储表示，将重启金融危机时期的短期公司债购买安排，以缓解信贷市场紧张状况，后者受累于不断升级的公共卫生紧急状况，使数百万美国人的日常生活受到干扰，并有可能将美国经济推入衰退。
根据美联储周二发布的声明，美联储将在得到财政部长批准的情况下动用紧急权力设立商业票据融资工具。财政部将从外汇稳定基金中拿出100亿美元用作信贷保护。美联储将重新启用金融危机时期采用过的工具，在商业票据市场因新冠疫情遭受“巨大压力”的情况下，帮助美国公司在商票市场融资。
同时，纽约联储本周将每天通过隔夜回购操作提供一万亿美元，将在上午和下午的隔夜回购操作中分别提供5000亿美元。
据悉，白宫和美国财长努钦正讨论的经济刺激计划总额最高可能达到1.2万亿美元。美国财长努钦称，规模约1万亿美元的刺激计划将包括贷款和直接提供支票；刺激计划中包括为小企业提供3000亿美元的贷款，2000亿美元用来保持稳定性，还包括两轮2500亿美元的支票发放。
金价在上周触及七年高位后已下跌近10%。周一一度大跌5.1%，跌破200日移动均线，并触及2019年11月以来最低。高盛分析师在一份报告中称，油价下跌也令金价受挫，因这导致俄罗斯央行暂停购买黄金的操作，并可能引发一些抛售；短期内，金价可能会保持震荡走势，以寻找新的均衡水平。
