分析师支出，现在全球政治和经济局势不明，黄金成功的成为了众多投资者的避风港，再度成为焦点。同时黄金股票的投资价值并不低。现在全球多个地方出于政治动荡中，黄金有对冲股市和作为避风港的作用。
分析师指出，政治与经济不明朗驱使黄金重新成为投资者的焦点。黄金之所以吸引人，是因为它的价值并不与其他主要资产类别同步，除了购买金条，要投资黄金相关资产，金矿股的投资价值看来不俗。
他指出，现时金矿股市帐率为1.4倍，远低于过去10年1.9倍的平均值，而金矿股估值也显著低于原材料股和全球股市，后两者的市帐率分别为1.5和2.0倍。这是由于金矿行业去年受到金价下跌的打击，并复苏缓慢。
自全球大型黄金企业巴理克黄金(Barrick Gold)去年9月以60亿美元收购主营非洲业务的矿企Randgold Resources以来，金矿板块的并购热情上升，当金矿企业开始互相收购时，表明市场低估了它们的资产价值，即它们尚未开采的矿藏。
该行指出，现时全球多个地方正处于政治动荡之中，例如中美贸易关系、英国脱欧、意大利频繁的政治混乱，在极端的股市环境中，黄金有对冲股市及作为避风港的作用。
