共和党内斗，黄金得以缓解
10月25日，现货黄金盘中在时隔一个交易日后再度创下10月6日以来低点至1271.09美元/盎司，但美国共和党继续因为税改一事内斗不断，以及西班牙加泰罗尼亚局面面临新的恶化，黄金止跌回升，收复全部跌幅。
市场近期的关注焦点还有欧洲央行周四(10月26日)即将公布的货币新政上。该央行料将宣布减少每月购债规模，很可能从明年初开始实施，此举或变相利好黄金。
有共和党参议员抨击特朗普拖累美国政治水平及国际地位，共和党内部分歧可能阻碍通过减税计划。CNBC报导援引美国参议院共和党领袖麦康奈尔(Mitch McConnell)一名助手的话报导，三名共和党参议员可能不会支持共和党税改案。
一名对特朗普持批评态度的共和党参议员傅雷克(Jeff Flake)周二(10月24日)表示，他不会在2018年寻求连任，他不能对现任美国总统“鲁莽、冲动且缺乏尊严”的行为继续保持沉默，更不能继续与之沆瀣一气。
CNBC报导称，共和党人计划在11月1日公布其税改法案。在此之前，预计众院将在下周四就参议院通过的预算案进行投票。
据出席午餐会的参议员称，美国总统特朗普周二(10月24日)借与参议院共和党人共进午餐的机会，征询了他们对下任美联储主席人选的意见。一位知情人士说，特朗普询问这些共和党人士他们倾向斯坦福大学经济学家泰勒(John Taylor)，还是由现任美联储理事鲍威尔(Jerome Powell)出任主席。
泰勒是斯坦福大学经济学家，部分人士认为若他当选，则将加快美联储升息步伐。泰勒支持采用一种以法则为基准的方法来制定利率。现任美联储主席耶伦的任期到明年2月份结束。
RBC Capital Markets称，泰勒当选美联储主席的赌盘赔率隔夜上升近一倍，从18%升至34%。该机构驻伦敦的汇市策略负责人Adam Cole说：“任何令耶伦连任可能性下降的事件，都必定意味着美联储将比现在更加强硬。整体感觉是没有哪位候选人比耶伦更为温和。”
LGT Bank投资策略师Roy Teo称，如果是被市场认为对货币政策持更趋鹰派立场的人士当选，例如泰勒，那么美元近期内可能会受到提振。他表示：“市场已经开始对更趋鹰派的人士出任美联储主席的预期做出反应。”
