特朗普支持率再度下跌
美国总统特朗普经历了一段动荡的时期，这段时期中所出现的事件包括特朗普对朝鲜发出新的威胁言论，以及特朗普过晚谴责“白人至上主义”，因此而挨批等。只有24%的美国人认为，在特朗普执政后，美国正朝着正确的方向前进。据美国公共事务研究中心的一项民调显示，自6月以来，人们对特朗普的支持率又下降了。
对总统来说，他在人们的心中的形象是糟糕的。近70%的美国人认为特朗普不是头脑清醒的人，大多数人说他不诚实，也不是个强大的领袖。超过60%的人不赞同他处理种族关系、外交政策和移民问题的方法。
尽管特朗普在选举中取得了成功，但他的政治生涯前景却仍非一马平川。虽然，特朗普的核心支持者对其保持的忠诚已足以让共和党议员们在很大程度上保持一致，但在明年中期选举前，共和党人将密切关注特朗普在共和党和独立选民中分别获得了多少的支持率。
可以肯定的是，议员们各自有自己心里担心的问题。因为，相比于尊重特朗普而言，美国人对国会的尊重甚至更少，只有18%的人表示他们赞成众议院和参议院的工作。共和党人上个月再次遭受打击，他们今年已是第二次未能通过全国医疗改革法案了。共和党领导人试图仓促表决，这使得许多选民不确定该法案的内容。
在美联社与芝加哥大学全国民意研究中心(AP-NORC)所做的民调中显示出，在特朗普上任后，美国的经济略有好转。但即便如此，56%的人不赞同特朗普所做的工作，只有42%的人认可他的工作。
即使在共和党人中，也只有42%的人说特朗普很了解他们，仅仅只有32%的人认为特朗普做得很好。在9月28日至10月2日间，美联社与芝加哥大学全国民意研究中心对1150名成年人进行了调查。所有被调查者的抽样误差范围是正负4.1个百分点。此次调查所采用的方式为网上调查或电访。
