英国央行宣布利率维持不变
5月12日，英国央行公布利率决定，维持0.5%不变。同时，英国央行还公布了会议纪要以及季度通胀报告。利率决议公布后，英镑兑美元短线走高，涨0.13%，报1.4510。
他指出，英国央行毫不避讳应对退欧突发事件的准备工作。英银将增持英镑期权头寸，确保银行系统有充足的资金应对政治动荡。此外，6月14日、21日和28日，英国央行还将分别举行3次现金拍卖活动。
“不过，那样做仍然无法阻止在英国选择退出欧盟之后，国内、外个人和企业投资者抛售英镑，”该分析人士称。
此前，就有一些分析师预测，英国退欧将导致英镑贬值15%-20%，毫无疑问那样将导致大规模通胀。
“如果一旦英国退出欧盟，英国央行接下来如何应对尚不得而知，但有一点毫无疑问，那对于行长卡尼和英国金融系统而言将是噩梦，经济增长放缓，通胀高企，”分析师表示。
路透社认为，如今脱欧派已经指责，卡尼强调脱欧对英国金融系统的风险，并称40年来的欧盟成员国地位让英国受益，这已经显示出其倾向性。2016年迄今，英国经济已失去很多动能，这些因素帮助其在过去三年表现好于其他大多数富裕国家。
该报称：“许多分析师将英国经济放缓归咎于公投结果存在不确定性，英国央行也已表示，看到公投前投资有减少的迹象。虽然，两位投票委员曾暗示支持降息，但大多数分析师预计，央行将等到6月23日公投结果出炉、英国经济前景更加明朗以后，再考虑是否祭出刺激举措。”
