因市场对减产的预期进一步减弱，且库存水平依然高企，油价周二连续第二日下跌，美国原油收低5.5%。而受油价大幅下滑拖累，艾克森美孚预计削减支出也令人失望，美国股市周二再度暴跌。
艾克森美孚股价收跌2.2%至74.59美元，此前该公司公布季度获利创逾10年来最低，并预计资本支出将较2015年水准下滑25%，而且暂缓股票回购。BP周二稍早公布年度亏损65亿美元，创记录最高。标普能源指数跌3.3%，对标普500指数造成的拖累最大。
周二道指收盘暴跌295.64点或1.8%，至16,153.54点。标普500指数下滑36.35点或1.87%，至1,903.03点。纳指重挫103.42点或2.24%，至4,516.95点。
油市回吐大部份上周四日连涨的涨幅，当时油价从1月中触及的低位反弹约20%，此前俄罗斯能源部长称石油输出国组织(OPEC)主要国家沙特暗示可能减产。
因仍未能达成减产协议，且周一俄罗斯能源部长和委内瑞拉石油部长的磋商未能达成任何明确的减产计划，本周这一希望减弱。
美国原油期货周二收盘报29.88美元/桶，下挫1.74美元，或5.5%，盘中最低触及29.81美元。布伦特原油期货收盘报32.72美元/桶，下滑1.52美元，或4.4%，盘中跌最多5.9%，至32.23美元/桶。
