1月14日，德国政府发布的政府报告中显示，德国经济在去年第四季度保持小幅增长，各方面经济数据都高于预期。
据德国统计局公布数据显示，德国在去年第四季度经济增长了0.25%，GDP增长了1.7%，12月批发物价指数为-1.0%，财政盈余相当于GDP的0.5%。
在全球经济还未复苏情况下，尤其欧元区经济持续低迷，德国公布的经济数据说明了德国的经济向好，创纪录的就业和扩张性货币政策都促进了国内的消费。
德国作为欧元区最大的经济体，正获益于欧洲央行史无前例的刺激政策，这也是欧元区19个国家中受益最大的国家。
鉴于此前失业率创纪录低点，薪资增长以及原油价格较去年下跌了37%，德国的国内支出驱动了经济增长，而出口商正把注意力从减缓的新兴市场转向复苏中的发达国家。
德国国有开发银行KfW的首席经济学家Joerg Zeuner表示：“德国的经济增长已经连续第二年稍高于潜力。”
欧洲央行管委莱恩表示：“应密切关注新兴市场经济体的发展。虽然对于德国，今年的前景还算不错，但是市场对中国经济减缓的担忧，还是无形之中对德国的经济造成了一定的压力。”
