据周二的一份政府报告称，欧元区12月物价涨幅小于预期，加重了欧洲央行进一步宽松货币政策的压力。即使欧洲央行扩大刺激措施，欧元区12月份通胀率仍低于经济学家预期。
欧盟统计局公布的数据显示，12月份消费者物价较去年同期上涨0.2%。这个数据低于彭博调查的预估中值0.3%，这原本预料是七个月来最强数据。
另外，欧洲时段稍早公布的德国就业数据显示失业率维持6.3%不变，依然为1992年1月以来的低点。季调后失业人数减少了1.4万，好于市场预期的0.8万。不过多数经济学家预期，由于移民涌入，2016年德国就业情况可能出现恶化。不过该数据对市场影响有效。
美元指数刷新逾一个月高位至99.62。
欧元/日元跌至4月以来最低水平，最新下滑1.4%至127.54；欧元/美元跌至一个月最低水平，最新下滑1%至1.0720，日内暴挫逾100点。
