加拿大央行周三(9月9日)将指标利率维持在0.5%不变，称之前的两次降息对经济仍然有刺激作用，加拿大经济受到稳健的本国家庭支出和坚实的美国经济复苏的支撑。
加拿大央行同时警告称，中国和其他新兴市场经济增长前景越来越不确定，令全球经济复苏步伐的疑虑也增强，金融稳定风险一如预期逐步形成。
央行指出，加拿大资源行业“持续调整以适应石油和其他商品价格的下跌，对其他经济领域也带来了压力。”调整是复杂的，可能需要一段时间。
但是，加元的下跌正有助于吸收商品价格走低带来的一些影响，有利经济调整。加拿大央行称：“尽管出口整体状况仍不确定，但最新的数据证实，对汇率敏感的出口正在重拾动能。”
加拿大央行没有直接提到火热的加拿大房地产市场或者家庭债务水平过高，而仅称“金融稳定的风险正如预期逐步形成”。该央行7月曾称，与家庭失衡相关的脆弱程度仍高企并可能小幅上升。
加拿大央行称，通胀符合7月的展望，核心通胀消除的压力被暂时性因素所抵消。
在加拿大央行公布维持利率不变后，美元兑加元自1.3250附近短线下滑至日低1.3156，随后震荡上行。
