11月美国民间就业岗位以较快的速度增长，服务业强劲扩张，表明全球经济不断放缓对美国经济活动的影响有限。但另一项数据显示，就业市场状况改善尚未带动薪资增长加速，这可能使美联储有理由在一段时间内继续保持超低利率。据民间就业服务机构ADP Employer Services报告，美国11月民间就业人数增加20.8万人，过去八个月中有七个月的增幅超过了20万。民间就业岗位全面增长，但服务业和制造业的招聘步伐有所放缓，分析师称这并未改变其对11月非农就业岗位增长超过20万的预期。
美国供应管理协会(ISM)公布，11月非制造业指数为59.3，仅略低于8月所创的经济衰退后最高位59.6，高于路透访查预期及上月水准。新订单和积压订单增加，而一项衡量出口订单的指标劲扬，未受中国和欧元区成长放缓，以及日本经济滑入衰退的影响。此外，美国劳工部公布，第三季时薪增幅被下修至1.3%，第二季时薪增幅亦下修至0.9%，加之单位劳工成本回落1.0%，都进一步暗示缺乏通胀和获利压力。
