基金分红是什么意思？基金分红是指基金将收益的一部分以现金方式派发给基金投资人，这部分收益原来就是基金单位净值的一部分。按照《证券投资基金管理暂行办法》的规定：基金管理公司必须以现金形式分配至少90%的基金净收益，并且每年至少一次。
一、基金分红的依据
1.基金当期收益先弥补上期亏损后，方可进行当期收益分配；
2.基金收益分配后每份基金份额的净值不能低于面值；
3.如果基金当期出现亏损，则不进行收益分配。有的基金还在招募说明书中对基金收益的分派事先作了约定，如一年中最少、最多的分派次数，或当可分配收益达到一定标准就进行分红等。
二、基金分红的方式
基金分红主要有两种方式：一种是现金分红，一种是红利再投资。根据《证券投资基金运作管理办法》，若投资者未指定分红方式，则默认收益分配方式为现金分红。投资者可以在权益登记日之前去您购买基金的机构处进行分红方式的修改。
（一）举例说明
比如说持有一基金10万份，现每基金份额分红0.05元：假设选择现金分红方式，那么基民可以得到0.5万元的现金红利；假设选择红利再投资，分红基准日基金份额净值为1.25元，那么，基民就可以分到5000元÷1.25元/份=4000份基金份额，基金份额就变为10.4万份。由于基金总资产因分红减少，所以在分红后基金净值降低。
（二）如何更改分红方式
开放式基金默认的分红方式为现金分红，但基民可以根据个人的具体情况以及基金行情的变化自主更改。更改分红方式时，代销客户需持本人身份证和证券卡去原先购买基金的代销机构修改；直销的客户可通过基金公司网站或电话交易系统自行修改。
