目前这名医生已经被送往纽约的表维医院，进行严密检测。他的女朋友也处于被隔离状态。另外，也有消息显示，这名医生昨晚搭乘Uber出租车，前往位于布鲁克林威廉斯堡的一间保龄球馆，这意味着他有可能跟公众有接触。
不过在23号下午举行的简报上，纽约市长白思豪就再次呼吁纽约人不要惊慌，称纽约过去几周已经在不断进行培训和演习，以应对类似情况。白思豪还强调，埃博拉不通过空气传播，公众感染的几率非常低。
