自9月9日以来，一月时间每盎司已经累计下跌50美元，恰此黄金周之际，消费类黄金首饰也迎来井喷，但与此同时，金条等投资类黄金遇冷，不少投资者选择了观望。
进入九月以来，国际金价一直“跌跌不休”。金价下调使得十一黄金周京城黄金销量大涨。据菜百首饰数据显示，国庆长假期间菜百公司整体实现销售2.6亿元，同比增长25%以上。其中饰品类销售呈现出明显增幅，大众消费特点明显。
10月3日，受美国9月强劲的非农就业数据影响，国际金价当日跌破每盎司1200美元的重要整数关口。纽商所黄金期货跌22.20美元，跌幅1.8%，至每盎司1192.90美元，创下56个月新低。分析人士表示，一方面，国际局势的一些不稳定情绪并未触发强烈的避险情绪，另一方面，在美国经济复苏的背景下，美联储加息的讨论不断升温进一步利空黄金。
有相关人员透露，十一期间黄金销量同比出现较大幅度增长，一方面与近几个月来金价不断下调有关系，此外，婚庆需要也是黄金首饰销量大涨的重要因素。菜百数据统计显示，婚庆小套装、各类对戒、各类精品的销售量较去年同期都有成倍增长。
京城千足金价格目前为每克298元，一年时间下跌了37元。
但与此同时，投资类金条销售现场却较冷清，投资者害怕抄底再被套。中国黄金协会上月发布的统计数据显示，今年上半年中国黄金消费量达到569.45吨，与去年同期相比下降19.38%。其中，实物黄金首饰用金426.17吨，同比增长11.02%；但是投资属性更为明确的金条用金为105.58吨，同比大幅下降62.13%。这也反映了人们对于黄金首饰的需求明显高于投资保值的需求。
