印度大选结果或对黄金提供支撑

加特曼通讯社创始人(Gartman Letter)、投资大鳄加特曼(Dennis Gartman)周五(5月9日)在接受采访时表示，目前印度大选正步入尾声，而印度人民党的候选人莫迪(Narendra Modi)最有望当选新任总理。这将对金价提供支撑，因为莫迪是印度黄金行业的支持者，而印度黄金行业同样也支持莫迪。
印度人民自古以来都对黄金有着近乎狂热的需求，而现今的印度政府对黄金似乎不太友好。去年印度政府为了控制不断膨胀的经常帐赤字，将黄金进口税上调至10%的历史高位。
莫迪此前称，“任何针对黄金的行动都应该考虑到大众和交易商的利益，而不只是经济和政策的，相信自由市场才是更好的市场。”
此外莫迪还指出，一些议员认为印度人对黄金的喜爱来源于贫困地区人民对金融的无知和缺乏教育。由此可见印度当权者对黄金的态度。
加特曼预计，鉴于当前印度黄金供应紧俏以及走私猖獗，莫迪上任后新的议会或许会很快对10%的关税做出调整。
不过，进口黄金中的20%必须用于出口的80:20规则是由印度央行(RBI)此前颁布的，因此即便新政府上台也未必能对此作出改变。
