南非铂金矿罢工第九周 造成12亿损失

南非《商业日报》（Business Day）报导，南非铂金矿工人对三大铂金矿商所发起的罢工已经持续达八周的时间，此约令南非铂金年产量减少了五分之一，并造成约12亿美元的收入损失。由于矿商与工会的谈判失败，罢工将持续进入第九周。Thomson Reuters GFMS贵金属研究主管William Tankard预估，罢工已经造成了约80万盎司的产量损失，其中50万盎司已经由三大铂金矿商证实，另外30万盎司为未来逐步恢复生产时所必需面临的生产损失。Tankard表示，当前情况更甚于2012年的大罢工潮，因当年的产量损失仅约50-60万盎司。Tankard表示，铂金价格目前对罢工的反应相对较小，主要因为三大铂金矿商仍能够以库存持续出货，但如果罢工继续持续约三周的时间，铂金价格很明显将会作出反应。南非是全球最大的铂金生产国，产量独占全球七成以上，2012年因罢工影响，铂金产量年减12%至418万盎司，庄信万丰（Johnson Matthey）此前预计南非2013年的铂金产量为412万盎司。
南非逾七万名铂金矿工人自1月23日罢工至今，南非矿工和建筑业工会（Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union, AMCU）要求将最低工资由每月5,000-5,700南非币倍增至每月12,500南非币（1,164美元），而三大铂金矿商英美铂金（Anglo American Platinum Ltd., Amplats）、印帕拉铂金公司（Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd., Implats）与隆明公司（Lonmin Plc）则最多只愿意加薪9%。美银美林（Bank of America Merrill Lynch）报告指出，铂金价格将受到南非供应问题的支撑，同时，近期以来欧洲车市持续下滑的趋势也已经有所放缓。铂金的工业需求主要用于生产柴油车的触媒转化器，欧洲是其重要的市场。但另一方面，铂金价格如果持续上涨，可能会损及铂金饰品的需求。澳纽银行集团（ANZ）也认为，南非的持续罢工威胁到铂金的供应，可能带动铂金价格上扬。
