中国实物黄金需求将取代ETF投资需求

3月17日报导，加拿大皇家银行资本市场（Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets, RBCCM）报告表示，中国大陆强劲的实物黄金需求，将会取代过去几年来影响金价的黄金ETF（交易所交易基金）投资需求，成为未来几年推升金价的主要动力。RBCCM认为，这或有可能激发金价走出新一轮类似2005-2008年期间的涨势。报告指出，由世界黄金协会（World Gold Council）所支持的全球首支黄金ETF–SPDR黄金信托基金（GLD.US）在2004年推出之后，迅速成为全球最大黄金ETF并吸引大量投资，是当时推升金价的一大因素；而去年SPDR黄金ETF持仓大减，也成为打压金价的一大来源。不过，RBCCM指出，大陆黄金消费的爆发将轻易取代黄金ETF的投资分量。作为比较，2005年1月至2008年12月，SPDR黄金ETF的黄金持有量总计增加了671公吨；而仅在2013年，大陆自香港净进口的黄金数量（1,158公吨），加上其国内的黄金产量（428公吨），表观消费就已经接近1,600公吨，这还不包括大陆本身不公布的自上海直接进口的黄金数量。而回顾2005年，大陆几乎没有进口黄金。
RBCCM也对中国大陆的黄金储备作出预估，称其数量可能达到2,700-3,000公吨。报告称，大陆2009年时隔六年发布黄金储备变动时，其黄金储备由2003年的600公吨增加至1,054公吨；而自2009年以来，大陆官方的黄金储备数量一直维持在1,054公吨不变，因此如果下一次大陆宣布黄金储备变动时再度出现大幅增加，应该也不是意料之外。RBCCM认为金价的主要风险应是来自于欧美央行可能的升息行动，但这应该会等到全球经济增长较为稳定之后，央行才会逐渐采取动作。
