上周调查显示，77%的分析师看涨本周金价。截至上周收盘，COMEX期金上涨0.4%。
Heritage West Financial主管Ralph Preston称：“在黄金价格去年急转直下后，几个技术性事件确认了最近的上涨趋势。”
他说，这些技术图形节点包括，从2013年7月份和12月份以来形成的双底形态，黄金价格突破1280美元/盎司，也突破了8月份高点1430美元/盎司和10月份高点1375美元/盎司形成的阻力位。此外，黄金价格也突破了1308.80美元/盎司的200日均线。
Adrian Day Asset Management CEO兼主席Adrian Day称，利好黄金的另一个因素是，黄金市场情绪发生了改变，这使得原本悲观的黄金投资者有所减少。
Phoenix Futures and Options拥有者Kevin Grady称，也有一些基本面的因素支撑黄金，这是其看涨下周金价的原因。他称：“我们继续看到，黄金远期市场趋紧。我感觉，这将蔓延至黄金期货市场。尽管珠宝商在这个价位似乎不会买入黄金，但是市场上继续会有买家。这导致我相信，我们可能会看到中央银行购买黄金。”
“上周，黄金市场的一个关键影响因素就是，美联储公布了FOMC会议纪要。美联储拖沓冗长的会议纪要让我们相信，他们会继续削减QE。尽管如此，黄金价格在这种直接的压力下仍然上涨。黄金价格200日均线在1305美元/盎司附近。黄金市场需要守住这个价位，以吸引更多新的买家。”
看跌黄金价格的分析师称，鉴于黄金价格在2月份急剧上涨，因此短期内可能会回调。
