纽蒙特黄金产量增加 净年利增7%

美国最大金矿商纽蒙特矿业公司（Newmont Mining Corporation）10月31日公布，2013年第三季净利年增7%至4.29亿美元，每股盈余86美分，主要受到黄金产量增加，以及出售其所投资的加拿大油砂公司（Canadian Oil Sands Limited）股份，挹注税前获利约2.8亿美元的影响。该公司第三季调整后获利则是较去年同期的4.26亿美元或每股86美分，下滑至2.27亿美元或每股46美分，此仍高于Thomson Reuters调查分析师平均预估的每股32美分。
Newmont第三季营收年减20%至20亿美元，此符合分析师的预估，因同期平均销售金价与铜价分别下跌20%与13%，各成为每盎司1,322美元与每磅3.1美元。Newmont表示，第三季总维持成本为每盎司993美元，较去年同期减少16%。
过去，像其他矿商一样，金矿厂商也使用现金成本（cash cost）来计算生产黄金的成本。然而，现金成本可能会忽视其他的费用，如一般的办公支出、开发矿山的部分资本以及对开发殆尽的矿山后期处理费用等。总维持成本（all-in sustaining costs, AISC）计算方式将涵盖部分上述支出，从而提高矿业公司的成本透明度。
Newmont此前公布的生产报告指出，该公司第三季黄金与铜的产量分别为128.3万盎司与3,400万磅，销量则分别为126.3万盎司与3,500万磅。该公司维持今年的黄金产量预估于480-510万盎司不变，但铜产量预估则是由1.5-1.7亿磅下调至1.35-1.45亿磅，主要因为澳洲伯丁顿矿（Boddington）产出低于预期，以及印度尼西亚巴都希贾乌（Batu Hijua）矿石品位下滑的影响。
