德国搬移存放美国的黄金储备300公吨

英国金融时报23日报导，《明镜周刊(Der Spiegel)》指出，德国联邦信息安全局在检视过司诺登提供的资料后认定，德国有充足的理由可以质疑美国政府为何在过去数年内监听德国总理梅柯尔(Angela Merkel)的移动电话谈话内容。德国政府发言人Steffen Seibert表示，梅柯尔已致电奥巴马表示，如果美国政府真的从事监听，她将谴责此一行为。白宫并未说明美国过去是否曾监听过梅柯尔，只表示现在没有、未来也不会进行监听。
Seibert指出，美国迄今尚未就国家安全局(NSA)在德国从事监听一事提出说明。德国社民党党鞭Thomas Oppermann指出，如果美国真的曾监听梅柯尔，那将意味着两国间的互信将荡然无存。太平洋投资管理公司(PIMCO)共同投资长伊尔艾朗(Mohamed El-Erian)1月16日在英国金融时报发表专文时指出，德国跟随伊朗、利比亚、委内瑞拉将黄金自美国运回国内的事件可大可小：如果相互不信任的情绪开始滋长、演变成更大规模的紧张情势，那么国际间「以邻为壑(beggar-thy-neighbor)」的政策可能会层出不穷。
美联社引述《明镜周刊(Der Spiegel)》9月8日的报导，NSA现已能够破解iPhone(iOS)、BlackBerry以及Android装置的加密措施、取得特定监控对象的通话纪录、SMS简讯、记事本、所在位置等讯息。
德国央行1月16日宣布，2020年12月31日以前存放在纽约联邦储备银行的黄金储备比重将从2012年12月底的45%降至37%。(注：相当于搬移300公吨)。
德国人为何担心黄金储备的安危？身为史上第一位拥有「上任4年、年年赤字皆超过1兆美元」纪录的奥巴马也许可以给外界一个解释。截至2013年10月17日为止美国公债余额报17..08兆美元、创历史新高！奥巴马自2009年1月20日宣誓就职以来，美国公债余额总计增加6.45兆美元、增幅达60.7%！同一时间黄金现货价自836.65美元/盎司升至1,333.13美元、增幅达59%。
