英国电讯报8月31日报导，花旗外汇技术分析团队指出，黄金价格已经突破前波压力区、目前正朝1,500-1,532美元/盎司前进。
6月27日报导，花旗外汇技术分析团队指出，不管目前的走势是类似2008年或1974-1976年，黄金长线都没有反转走空的理由、2016年目标依旧上看3,400-3,500美元/盎司。
彭博社9月2日报导，根据美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)公布的统计数据，截至2013年8月27日为止当周资产管理机构以及其他大额交易人所持有的黄金期货/选择权净多单跳增34%至97,902口、创1月22日当周以来新高；空单部位暴减37%、创11个月以来最大降幅。23位受访分析师预期金价本周看涨、6位看空、5位中立，看多专家比例创3月8日以来新高。
美国总统奥巴马(Barack Obama)8月31日表示，对叙利亚动武须取得国会授权。华盛顿时报报导，共和党表示众议院将在9月9日当周讨论动武案。报导指出，依据美国宪法，欧巴马有权要求国会提前复会，但他并未提出此一请求。
嘉实XQ全球赢家系统的报价显示，黄金现货价8月份上扬5.35%、连续第2个月收高，创2012年6-9月以来最长上扬走势。黄金现货价8月28日盘中最高升至1,433.85美元/盎司、创5月14日以来新高。英国金融时报专栏作家John Dizard 8月30日指出，全球黄金散户买家似乎不是因为担心通膨才进场，而是不相信银行体系、担心资本管制。
