黄金下跌影响 汇丰调降南非金矿商

彭博社8月8日报导，汇丰控股（HSBC Holdings Plc）最新报告将南非数家金矿商的股票评等由持有降至卖出，主要因为金价下跌将令金矿商的获利萎缩，以及持续的劳工问题的影响。被汇丰调降股票评级的三家公司分别为全球产量第三大的金矿商英美黄金阿散蒂公司（AngloGold Ashanti Limited）、哈莫尼金矿公司（Harmony Gold Mining Co.）与Sibanye Gold Ltd.，金田公司（Gold Fields Ltd.）则仍维持持有的评等，因该公司积极将其生产分散至包括澳洲、加纳以及秘鲁等高成长矿场的影响。
南非的劳资谈判正在升温，因为矿商所提出的5%加薪幅度已经被工会拒绝。此前、南非最大工会、拥有30万名成员的全国矿工联盟（National Union of Mineworkers, NUM）向由矿商组成的南非矿业协会（Chamber Of Mines）提出最多加薪60%的要求。南非矿业协会指出，金价今年以来大跌了23%，这使得约有六成的南非金矿商无法获利，因此矿商恐难以达成工会的加薪要求。
AngloGold澳大利亚执行副总Graham Ehm本周表示，该公司将会扩充在澳洲的营运规模，并认为未来金价的上扬将足以抵消能源成本上涨的负面影响。Ehm表示，金价目前约在每盎司1,300美元价位，而该公司明年度的营运计划会以略低于目前的价位为基础，并认为金价走势长期仍旧偏多，主要因为中国大陆与印度的需求仍将增长，而金矿的供应并没有办法快速增加。
巴克莱资本（Barclays Capital）报告表示，2012年南非黄金生产成本创下统计以来新高，且预期今年生产成本仍将继续走高，主要受到与劳动力相关的生产中断影响。报告估计2012年总体成本曲线为纪录最高，年率上升13.1%至每盎司673美元，边际现金成本年率上升15.2%至1,104美元。南非是全球产金成本最高的国家，美国最低。彭博社的数据显示，世界主要金矿商的黄金生产成本约在每盎司1,200美元。
