联储两名官员周二分别发言表示，联储会在2013年内就开始缩减量化宽松项目的资产采购规模，投资者继续揣测联储的时机选择，黄金价格连续第六个交易日下挫。
另一方面，美国6月贸易赤字下降，使得第二季度国内生产总值被向上修正的可能性增加，也对黄金的避险投资吸引力造成打击，主力黄金合约跌破每盎司1300美元的关键位置，周二场内交易中收于每盎司1283美元。
美联储目前每个月购买850亿美元资产，这种被称为量化宽松，旨在刺激经济增长的措施也被认为是黄金价格的重要支撑因素。
2013年至今，黄金价格累计跌幅已经超过了23%，业内组织世界黄金理事会报告指出，黄金价格已经见底，也就是说价格将会出现涨势。
目前黄金价格再度回调，短期横行区间1260-1320美元。
