关闭高成本产能 将重新平衡黄金价格

世界黄金协会世界黄金协会(WGC)是由黄金生产商出资建立的协会现在代表了占全球年度黄金产量60%多的采矿公司。世界黄金协会周二(8月6日)表示,因黄金生产商缩减开支并关闭一些成本高昂的运营设备,今年黄金产量将维持稳定或者有所下降,金价将会反弹。
WGC的投资研究总经理Marcus Grubb周二在澳大利亚西部小镇卡尔古利接受采访时说,”很有可能今年的黄金产量在全世界范围内都是持平甚至是下降的。”他还说,”这将有可能将市场重新带回平衡状态。基本上,这意味着,就价格而言,我们现在更接近价格底部而不是顶部。”
金价今年以来下跌了22%。在对美联储可能相应缩减经济刺激计划的猜测下,投资者抛售此前视为保值手段而购入的黄金,黄金价格终结了连续12年的牛市。从加拿大到新西兰,黄金生产商们纷纷宣布他们在过去的两个月里至少减记了210亿美元的资产,并且正在他们最昂贵的运营设备上节省花销,裁汰员工并停止生产。
因对黄金珠宝和金币的需求,黄金在6月28日从连续34个月的低位上反弹了9.6%。此低位为1180.50美元/盎司。在孟买,截至当地时间上午8:33,黄金现货下跌了0.8%,为1293.27美元每盎司。
世界上最大的黄金生产商–巴里克黄金集团表示,可能变卖,关闭或者减少其位于秘鲁到巴布亚新几内亚范围内的12座成本高于1000美元/盎司的金矿。该公司的首席执行官Jamie Sokalsky在8月1日的采访中表示,这12座正在检查中的金矿占巴里克产量的近25%。
“供给面将重新调整,因为我们知道现在矿业公司不得不去适应已经改变的环境,尤其是在澳大利亚。但在南非情况也是一样的。”Grubb说。
Grubb还表示,据推测,中国预计将在今年超过印度,成为世界上最大的黄金消费国。
