印度今年黄金进口可能低于去年

美国《华尔街日报》7月31日消息，印度财政部长奇丹巴兰姆(P. Chidambaram)31日接受采访时表示，印度今年黄金进口可能低于去年的845吨。他还表示，实物黄金进口下滑会节省数量可观的外汇，这将对经常账户赤字产生积极的影响。
报道称，印度是世界上最大的黄金消费国，政府将其巨大的经常账户赤字归结于黄金进口。自今年1月以来，印度政府已将黄金进口税上调至8%。此外，印度政府出台政策，限制黄金经销商用银行信贷从国外购买黄金，迫使他们进口黄金时预付现金。
奇丹巴兰姆表示，印度6月份黄金进口总量为31吨，7月份的进口总量为45吨，这远远低于5月份的进口量。报道指出，由于4月中旬黄金价格大幅下跌，进口有所增加，5月份黄金进口量达到162吨。奇丹巴兰姆继续说道，黄金进口下滑会节省数量可观的外汇，这将对经常账户赤字产生积极的影响。
