12月29日，金价维持坚挺，美元指数重新走弱。同时美国推进的新冠救济计划缓解了市场的担忧，而且英国脱欧后将获得欧盟正式批准进行贸易，同时欧洲的疫苗接种计划都支持欧系货币走强，让美元避险需求走弱。
民主党占多数的美国众议院周一(12月28日)以275-134的投票结果通过了一项议案，满足了特朗普提出的向民众发放2000美元疫情纾困支票的要求，以在疫情期间增加对美国人的救助。
议案将送交共和党掌控的参议院——其中的大多数共和党人甚至反对规模为1200美元的刺激支票。虽然这项措施在参议院的命运还不得而知，但这一次民主党议员罕见地与总统特朗普立场一致。
目前尚不清楚特朗普为何放弃阻止该法案的威胁，转而签署该法案。特朗普上周威胁说，如果国会不把补助金额从600美元提高到2000美元，并削减其他支出，他将阻止2.3万亿美元的援助和支出一揽子计划。他觉得该法案向美国人提供的直接资金太少，而外国援助太多。
特朗普此举已经在将美股推至纪录高位，因其恢复对数以百万计美国人的失业救济，并避免了联邦政府部分关闭，增强了人们对物价上行压力抬头的预期，黄金有望重新上攻千九关口。
辉瑞公司发言人称：“全部2亿剂药物的分配计划于2021年9月完成。”但对于具体供应时间表或欧盟委员会是否提议在供应时间表中考虑潜在延迟供货的因素，辉瑞公司发言人拒绝作出评论。辉瑞发言人只是强调：“我们制定了理想的供应时间表，可以根据产能和生产时间变化作出调整，这些考量也将反过来完善供应预期和交货时间表。”
欧盟药品监管机构将在2021年1月6日决定是否批准Moderna疫苗，并表示它将在2021年第一季度收到阿斯利康和强生公司的批准申请。欧盟委员会发言人补充说，根据一些已达成的合同，首批交付将于3月开始。
