11月27日，美国政府有望顺利交接，但疫苗引发市场质疑，黄金出现震荡变化。部分投资者已经认为，金价涨势已经触碰顶点，之后将出现技术性回调，但部分投资者也认为金价有进一步的上涨空间。
英国制药商阿斯利康(AstraZeneca)周一表示，在关键实验中旗下疫苗的有效率为70%，可望进一步提升至90%，这是近期提振投资人信心的连串疫苗消息之一。但多名科学家对其疫苗成功率提出质疑，可能降低其很快获得欧美监管审批的可能性，市场气氛变得更加混沌。
彭博新闻援引阿斯利康执行长Pascal Soriot周四的讲话称，该公司可能会另外进行一次全球试验，以评估低剂量的疫苗是否比全剂量的效果更好，而不是将该试验加入到正在美国进行的试验中。
美国总统特朗普周四表示，如果选举人团投票支持民主党人拜登当选总统，他将离开白宫。如果当选总统拜登施行新的封锁限制，美联储保持低利率的决心与其他主要央行相一致，而明年世界其他地方经济复苏的话，就提供了一个进一步抛售美元的理由。
特朗普迄今仍拒绝承认败选，继续在没有提供证据的情况下宣称此次大选存在广泛的舞弊。选举人团将于12月14日投票。特朗普还称，新冠疫苗交付将在下周及下下周开始，疫苗最先将配发给一线人员、医务人员和老年人。
即便如此，仍有很多分析师认为金价有进一步上涨的空间。美国银行目前仍预计金价明年会涨至2000美元以上，然后到2022-2025年回落至1900-1950美元左右。花旗银行分析师表示，他们预计明年黄金平均价格为每盎司2100美元，到2022年将达到2200美元。
英国商品研究所（CRU）董事总经理Paul Robinson表示，明年波动性和不确定性将足以支撑金价在未来三到六个月重回2000美元/盎司。明年上半年，黄金将受到强劲的基本面支撑。黄金前景很好。它的价格方向很好。仍有理由持有黄金。
市场可能已接近顶峰，分析师表示，想让金价全年都保持在2000美元的水平，就必须出现严重问题。想让金价维持在2000美元/盎司，我们就需要看到疫苗出现一些问题。全球经济需要面临灾难性的状况，未来12个月金价才会持续高于2000美元。
