9月28日，由于英镑暴涨压制美元指数，促使黄金从低位反弹，同时英国避免断崖式脱欧前景被市场看好，也进一步支撑金价。但目前美国新的财经刺激计划持续难产，美国总统大选辩论即将带来，全球地缘局势依旧不明朗，都对金价形成了支撑。
投资人目前观望周二(9月29日)即将举行的美国总统大选首场辩论会，博彩业目前认为两人胜选的机率基本各占一半。特朗普上周拒绝承诺若败选会和平移交权力，并表示他预计选战最终将由最高法院来裁决。
由于特朗普所属的共和党在参议院以53对47占据多数优势，该项提名得到确认看起来已是板上钉钉，尽管民主党人可能会尽力增加提名过关的难度。
由于参议院的多数席次也可能变化，这场选举的结果也许出现总统及国会皆由同一政党拿下的情形，使立法工作变得容易，例如目前因为政治僵局而卡在国会的额外财政刺激计划可能会取得进展。
美国众议院议长佩洛希(Nancy Pelosi)上周日表示，她认为可以和白宫就新冠疫情救助计划达成协议，目前谈判还在继续当中，“我们在进行对话。当我和政府对话时，气氛真诚良好，…我相信我们可以达成协议。”
民主党领导的众议院可能批准的任何法案，都不太可能在由共和党掌控的参议院中推进。佩洛希上周日表示，如果与特朗普政府的僵局持续下去，她将在未来几天提出法案，这绝对有可能。但她也强调，她宁愿与白宫达成协议，也不愿进行“夸夸其谈”。
国际文传电讯社报导，亚美尼亚驻俄罗斯大使周一表示，在纳卡地区发生争夺战之际，土耳其已经派遣约4000名士兵从叙利亚北部进入阿塞拜疆。
俄新社报导称，亚美尼亚驻俄大使表示，这些(土耳其)士兵参与了纳卡地区的战斗。但阿塞拜疆则否认土耳其从叙利亚派兵进入阿塞拜疆。土耳其是阿塞拜疆的亲密盟友。
两国所处的南高加索地区是全球石油运输走廊，阿塞拜疆向域外国家输送里海石油和天然气的管道靠近纳卡地区。国际油价若波动加剧，也会影响全球市场情绪，进而带动黄金等避险资产走高。
