9月14日，现货黄金明显走强，在本周美联储政策会议结束后，市场期待美联储给出进一步宽松信号，同时美联储可能继续增购长债。不过疫苗试验恢复进行也提振了全球股市，限制了一定的避险情绪。
阿斯利康(AstraZeneca)恢复人体试验后对新冠疫苗的希望重燃，亚洲股市收高，欧洲股市走强，美国股指期货也反弹。公司上周末表示，在获得安全监管机构准许后，该公司已恢复其新冠疫苗的英国临床试验。
不过全球新冠疫情形势依然不乐观。印度虽然实施了四个月的封锁措施，但新冠病例数位居全球第二。此外，新冠病例在那些似乎已成功控制疫情的亚洲国家再度上升，如印尼首都雅加达再度实施封锁。
英国下议院周一将就内部市场法案(Internal MarketBill)进行辩论，并决定是否将该法案推进至下个阶段。欧盟已经要求约翰逊在9月底前放弃该法案。
英国前首相梅杰(保守党)与布莱尔(工党)上周日发表联名信，称英国必须放弃通过立法破坏脱欧协议这个“令人震惊”的计划，此举违反国际法。前英国首相特雷莎·梅(保守党)也质疑，全球合作伙伴未来还能否信任英国。
本周美联储将公布自主席鲍威尔宣布变更政策框架以来的首次利率决议。与过去相比，美联储在紧缩政策方面不会再像以前那样急迫，因其更加侧重提振就业市场。这项政策变化令美债收益率曲线变得陡峭，抬高了长期借款成本。
新冠病毒对经济带来冲击的疑虑迫使美联储将利率调降至近零水准，并推出多项贷款计划以援助企业及家庭。美联储在疫情期间购买了逾1.5万亿美元的短期公债，已压低短期借款成本。外界预计，美联储可能不得不增加购买长期债券以压低收益率。
美联储主席鲍威尔本月稍早表示，央行将持续保持货币政策宽松的同时，国会议议员也需要提出提振复苏措施加以辅助，因此对于部分投资人而言，政府迟迟未能通过下一轮的刺激计划，是一个越来越令人担忧的情势发展。
分析师表示：“尤其在没有财政政策计划的情况下，市场希望美联储采取更多举措。尚不清楚他们是否可以进一步行动，也不知道他们愿意做多少努力，至少目前来看是这样。”
