6月3日，美国公布了5月ADP就业人数，数据结果好于市场预期，让市场的情绪较为乐观，同时也更加期待非农就业报告，而金价则出现了明显的下跌。疫情对各规模的企业造成巨大的损失，劳动力市场仍受到美国经济衰退的影响，同时多州已打算恢复营业。
具体数据显示，美国5月ADP就业人数减少276万，预期减少900万，前值减少2023.6万。
ADP报告显示失业可能已经在4月见顶。5月制造业就业人数减少71.9万人，4月减少167.4万人；建筑业就业人数减少2.2万人，4月减少247.7万人；贸易/运输/公用事业就业人数减少82.6万人，4月减少344万人；金融服务业就业人数减少19.6万人，4月减少21.6万人；专业/商业服务就业人数减少25万人，4月减少116.7万人。
ADP就业数据公司副总裁表示，新冠肺炎危机继续对各种规模的企业施压，而劳动力市场仍然受到美国经济衰退的影响。随着许多州开始分阶段恢复营业，失业人数可能已在4月份达到峰值。白宫经济顾问委员会主席哈塞特表示，美国经济接近触底。
不过当前共识预期认为美国5月失业率或飙升至19.5%，高盛的预期则更为悲观，该行预计美国失业率可能升至25%以上，先前的预测是失业率最高将达到25%。美联储和美国政府都启动了前所未有的货币和财政支持政策。即便如此，包括高盛分析师在内的多数观察人士仍认为，美国经济V型复苏的机率很低。
黄金下一波涨势即将到来。股市的动能阻碍了黄金上行，但市场对股市的热衷是有问题的。美联储在支撑着美股以及其它资产。这让投资者们担心自己错过这波行情。
为应对疫情，美联储降息并且开启无限量化宽松(QE)，而近期市场对美国进入负利率状态的预期在增加。美联储不太可能采用负利率，但市场或许会一直有这样的预期，眼下这个环境对黄金是非常利好的，其将进入长期牛市。预计金价将涨至2500美元/盎司，明年将开始真的起飞。
