2月25日，金价保持上涨趋势，但是公共卫生事件对全球经济带来的冲击仍在重创金融市场，投资者预计美联储今年可能降息，美元上涨的趋势也受到了抑制，同时市场认为美联储的经济刺激举措页无法缓解全球市场的忧虑。
韩国报告231个新病例，感染总数来到833例。其中许多来自韩国第四大城大邱，韩亚航空与大韩航空公司甚至停飞往返当地航班直至下个月，大邱被孤立程度可见一斑。
伊朗上周三才宣布头两例确诊病例，目前已累计61例、造成12人死亡。多数感染病例发生在什叶派穆斯林圣城库姆(Qom)。科威特、巴林、阿曼、阿富汗和伊拉克均报告首次确诊感染者，所有病例都曾到访伊朗。
意大利现在是受全球公共卫生事件影响最严重的欧洲国家，目前该国死亡病例上升至七例，新增确诊病例攀升至约220例，上周五前该国仅报告确诊三例感染者。
随着对全球公共卫生事件的担忧扩及美国市场，美国股市上日重挫逾3%、美债收益率跌至2016年7月以来新低，且收益率曲线严重倒挂——这是暗示可能发生衰退的信号。
克利夫兰联储主席梅斯特是最新一个注意到相关风险的联储官员。她在华府全美商业经济协会(NABE)的演说中，将全球公共卫生事件描述为“重大风险”。
市场参与者对美联储进一步放松政策的预期继续升温，货币市场预期6月会议上可能降息25个基点。今年全年，交易员预期美联储降息50个基点至1%-1.25%，低于当前区间1.5%-1.75%。
尽管美国经济仍然强劲——去年美国增长2.3%，但和六个月前相比，消费者支出和工业生产确实均已放缓。
大田环球称，如果发展称全球大流行，担忧情绪将席卷消费者且可能影响支出，“从消费者角度而言，我认为这将改变一些事情。”
美联储未来若做出鸽派反应，或许并不会让人意外。但如果美国企业开始受到卫生形势的影响——因海外工厂停工而无法获得基础原料，那么美联储宽松作用不大，而且黄金作为避险资产很可能再度获益。
