黄金潜在需求仍有，美联储出现新思维

5月17日，现货黄金继续下跌，美元指数刷险两周新高。美国经济数据强劲，美国总统特朗普将汽车关税推迟至少6个月。但特朗普政府对华为实行管制措施，中美贸易摩擦出现新战线，加大了市场对美国经济的忧虑。而美联储表示如果通胀意外上升，美联储给予欢迎。
特朗普政府对华为出狠招，以国家安全为理由禁止该公司在没有特别批准的情况下购买关键美国技术，并实行另一项实际上就是禁止美国电信网络使用华为设备的举措。
美国商务部发布一项周三通过的规定，将华为及其在20多个国家的68家分支机构列入所谓的“实体名单”，这一举措将禁止这家电信巨头在未经美国政府批准的情况下从美国公司购买零部件。
过去一个月，中美贸易摩擦加大了美国经济陷入衰退的风险。有调查显示，美国未来两年内陷入衰退的机率超过50%。美联储本轮加息周期可能已经划上句号。美元上行动能仅来自于其具有的部分避险属性，即全球其他主要经济体表现更糟。
美国总统特朗普周二坚称，与中国的贸易谈判没有破裂，并称中美贸易战只是“一场小争吵”。但有明显迹象显示，这场冲突已经对经济产生影响，股市又一次变得战战兢兢。
分析师说：“很难想象，如果我们目前的贸易紧张局势进一步升级，不会导致衰退风险上升。现在的情况是，已课征或威胁将在未来几周课征的关税水平确实已经相当高了。若基本上对我们从中国进口的所有商品征收25%的关税，对美国经济来说将构成实实在在的拖累。”
由于担心目前的低通胀预期会削弱美联储应对未来经济下行的能力，两位联储官员周四抛出罕见看法：如果通胀意外上升，联储应该给予欢迎。
明尼阿波利斯联储主席卡什卡里在加州大学圣巴巴拉分校参加一个经济座谈会后对记者们表示：“可能会有些意外，也许薪资增长突然加速，然后导致高通胀，重要的是，我们不应该做出太多反应。”
美联储理事布雷纳德在华盛顿发表谈话时也作出类似表态，如果物价因为比如进口成本上升这类原因而上涨，美联储可以对这种情况加以利用，鼓励“机会主义式的通货再膨胀”，并传递出这样的信息，即通胀小幅高于目标也符合我们的目标。
在失业率处于半个世纪低点3.6%的情况下，美国通胀率却顽固地低于美联储设定的2%目标。由于贸易不确定性升高且经济衰退可能性上升，美联储预计会维持利率在2.25-2.50%区间不变至少至明年底。这也是限制金价进一步走低的基础。
