9月12日，现货黄金价格小幅下跌，因为市场对中美贸易局势担忧持续增加，投资者感到更多的不安。美国总统特朗普对此有恃无恐。中美贸易战促使投资者买进美元，打压新兴市场，影响黄金购买力。
分析师表示：“在美联储做出利率决议之前，看来金价将持续区间波动。”他并称，美联储立场强硬地升息可能会强化金价长期走空前景。
中国国务院副总理胡春华周三表示，各国应“明确反对”贸易保护主义和单边主义，坚定支持多边主义，支持全球经济和多边贸易体系。
特朗普已经对500亿美元中国商品加征25%的关税，主要是工业机械和半导体等电子元器件产品。尚未敲定的2000亿美元征税清单将纳入更多消费者商品，而威胁对另外2670亿美元商品征税则基本上涵盖了中国出口到美国的所有商品。
美国劳工部周二公布的职位空缺及劳动力流动调查(JOLTS)显示，7月职位空缺升至纪录高位，更多的美国人自愿离职，劳动力市场环境进一步趋紧，雇主愈发难以找到合适的员工。
劳工部的JOLTS报告亦显示，强劲的劳动市场让美国民众有信心辞职跳槽。7月离职率增至2.4%，为2001年4月以来最高水平。美联储官员视离职率为就业市场信心的一项指标。
工作流动性增加，支持了经济分析师对就业增长或终将加速的乐观看法，增强了对该市场向好将很快刺激薪资加速增长的信心，美国经济主要以来内需，因此增长仍存在提速潜能，这或让特朗普在贸易战中变得有恃无恐，从小时图上看，美元指数或演绎楔形收敛形态，多头可能正在积蓄新的上行动能。
土耳其里拉兑美元今年以来已贬值40%，除了受累于对总统埃尔多安影响货币政策的不安，近期美国与土耳其的冲突也令投资者感到紧张。
土耳其央行称，将在周四的政策委员会会议上调整货币立场。分析师认为这意味着将上调指标一周附买回利率。该利率目前为17.75%，低于年通胀率17.9%。
分析师说：“不可否认，新兴市场已下跌，并已拖累人气，这或许已经导致大量资金流向美国，新兴市场动荡以及贸易不确定性已促使市场参与者买入美元。”
