鲍威尔不惧贸易战，黄金继续创新低

7月17日，现货黄金价格创新新低，主要因为美联储主席鲍威尔即将在国会进行的证词陈述。鲍威尔可能回避贸易战影响，并维持年内两次加息，即使贸易战对美联储造成重大牵制，但是黄金仍难以翻身。
鲍威尔将于北京时间周二22:00在参议院金融委员会陈述他对于美国经济的乐观看法，市场以及鲍威尔的许多同僚都预期，随着经济持续扩张，今年还会升息两次。
小时表示：“看起来市场聚焦在美中贸易战是否可能会影响到美联储紧缩政策的前景。鲍威尔是共和党人士，与特朗普政府关系密切，他将不会过于强调美中贸易战的负面影响。”
理论上讲，美元涨势应受到中美贸易争端升级相关忧虑的抑制，不过这些忧虑目前尚未阻挡美元的强劲表现。但鲍威尔任何有关对贸易持谨慎立场的暗示，都可能会打压市场的风险偏好。
特朗普在过去一个月已经进一步拉高对美国主要贸易伙伴的抨击，对中国进口品开征关税，并扬言将会扩大课税范围，在此同时将欧盟贴上“贸易敌手”的标签。
国际货币基金组织(IMF)周一警告称，美国采取关税行动所带来的贸易冲突升级和长期贸易争端，可能令经济复苏脱轨，压制中期经济前景。
IMF概述了美国总统特朗普的关税威胁以及随后贸易伙伴的报复行动给经济带来全面冲击的潜在影响，称如果威胁兑现，将可能令2020年全球经济增长率预估下降0.5个百分点。这相当于年产值损失近5000亿美元产值，等同于减去泰国的经济规模。
法国兴业银行的分析师Guy Stear表示：“贸易冲突升级正在变成越来越现实的下档风险，可能压制信心及资本支出。值得质疑的是，由于紧张局势日益加剧，美联储一把手还能够、以及还希望在多长时间内保持如此镇定。”
全球最大黄金上市交易基金(ETF)——SPDR Gold Trust GLD称，周一其黄金持仓量减少0.15%至794.01吨。中美贸易战之际，最大黄金消费国中国的黄金需求一直低迷，而之前数据显示中国经济放缓，这进一步打压了黄金的需求前景。
