美国总统特朗普周二(3月13日)将国务卿蒂勒森(Rex Tillerson)解职，双方在朝鲜、俄罗斯和伊朗等政策问题上存在公开分歧。中央情报局(CIA)局长蓬佩奥(Mike Pompeo)将接任其职务。
分析师称，在蒂勒森被开、蓬佩奥接任的意外消息传出后，避险情绪重现。
蓬佩奥是特朗普贸易政策的支持者，有望帮助他推进对美国贸易伙伴国的政策，所有这些不确定性和避险情绪使得黄金再度成为避险选项。
分析师称：“美国日益严重的保护主义倾向可能已经给股市拉响警报，在当前愈发充满不确定性的大环境中，黄金将继续成为对冲风险的理想港湾。”
与此同时，周二公布的数据显示，美国2月份汽油和房租价格下降，暗示美国通胀上行依然维持渐渐式步伐。
分析师在研报中写道：“0.2%的美国通胀月率依然不足以支撑美联储年内加速升息的市场预期。”
