领导层变动更鹰派，2018加息三次即将来临
美联储可能正在经历104年前成立以来最大一次领导层变动，其主席和副主席，以及董事会成员需要进行换人。大多数经济学家预测，如果美国经济继续保持在目前的水平，通货膨胀率保持在相对较低的水平，美联储新主席鲍威尔会在2018年加息三次。
一旦美联储主席提名人鲍威尔(Jerome Powell)未来几周获得参议院全体批准，现任美联储主席耶伦(Janet Yellen)就会卸任。美联储副主席的位置依然空缺，在美联储董事会的七个位置中，还有三个位置需要填补。
分析师表示:“美联储理事会面临着前所未有的变动。”
现在，关注美联储一举一动的华尔街金融机构假设，这种状况将持续。鲍威尔是在美联储任职5年的老手。他被视为中间派人士，不太可能抛弃前任美联储主席耶伦制定的渐进加息战略。
投资者显然希望鲍威尔谨慎行事，最好比美联储本身预期的还要谨慎一些。期货市场预测，美联储2018年仅会加息两次，比美联储预测的还要少一次。美联储目前的利率区间为1.25%-1.5%。
大多数经济学家预测，如果美国经济继续保持在目前的水平，通货膨胀率保持在相对较低的水平，鲍威尔就会这样做。尽管美国经济增长强劲，失业率下降至4.1%，创下了17年来的低点，但美联储的首选PCE通胀指标仍远低于2%的目标位。
然而，如果通货膨胀最终摆脱限制，飙升至2%以上，所有的赌注都会消失。
从2015年底开始，现任美联储主席耶伦就为一系列利率上调制定了计划。2017年秋天，她还开始减少美联储持有的数万亿美元美国国债和抵押贷款支持债券。
修正后的利率设定委员会将帮助美联储维持2018年加息三次的计划。用美联储的话说，该机构2018年将变得更加鹰派。
拥有12名成员的联邦公开市场委员会(FOMC)一直由7名华盛顿美联储董事会成员以及纽约联储主席组成。在11名地区联储主席中，其中4名主席也会每年轮换到FOMC。
一些美联储观察人士认为，鲍威尔可能更倾向于顺从拥有更多经济工作经验或者货币政策专业知识的成员，特别是未来的美联储副主席。
纽约阿默斯特皮尔庞特证券公司的首席经济学家斯坦利称：“他将会好好地缓和讨论，但我并不认为他会推动这一策略。”
前美联储官员坦南鲍姆称，鲍威尔将从一位具有强大美联储背景的副主席选拔中获益。美联储副主席的选拔将有助于缓和华尔街的焦虑情绪。
坦南鲍姆表示:“身边拥有一位货币政策知识丰富的2号人物，那种感觉将非常好。”
