在2017年录得优异表现后，2018年商品价格料持续表现优异。石油输出国组织(OPEC)减产、市场对美国页岩油供应的乐观情绪降温，原油库存的降低及全球经济同步增长提升原油需求，均支撑油价上行，未来十二个月料续涨。
2017年11月30日OPEC和以俄罗斯为首的非OPEC产油国同意延长减产协议九个月至2018年底，以解决全球供应过剩问题，同时暗示若市场过热，可能会提前结束减产。
美联储温和加息，与此同时欧洲央行及全球其他主要央行均开始移除超宽松货币政策，将削弱2018年美元的上行之势，金价和其他贵金属价格料从货币市场获得支撑。此外，仍低企的实际利率水平和投资者们的对冲需求也将助力商品价格进一步上行。
随着全球经济加速成长，将有更多央行在2018年开始减少货币刺激政策。
