分析师在报告中写道，使用权力试图阻止一宗调查，是常见的妨碍方法。而要求参与调查者的对个人效忠、命令个人帮助停止调查行动、然后最终解聘此人以实现其阻止调查行动目的，通常会构成妨碍罪。
这篇报告认为，如果正在调查科米被解职一事的美国特别检察官穆勒也得出上述结论，那么他就会起草合法的弹劾文件。FX678援引外媒的报道，穆勒正在调查特朗普在竞选美国总统时是否存在着和俄罗斯政府勾结、影响2016年总统大选结果的行为。白宫方面没有回应记者的置评请求。
