美联储督促缩表，但是加息得谨慎

布雷纳德称，建议准备开始缩减资产负债表，即将到来的资产负债表调整在广泛预期中，她补充，缩表应该是逐步且符合预期的。但对于加息，布雷纳德表示，应密切评估通胀数据，在加息之前要“信心十足”，美联储或将比中期预期更为谨慎地渐进加息。
她认为，潜在通胀率趋势目前可能有所降低，通胀率远未达标，担心近期低物价是因受压抑的基础通胀所致。但美联储应该清楚表明，在一段时间内推动通胀率略高于目标是适宜的。她补充，还不清楚技术对通胀的影响。
布雷纳德称，美国经济稳固，投资回升，金融资产泡沫的危机迹象较少。他补充，飓风哈维将影响美国第三季度GDP增长，预计对月度就业人数有短暂影响，但就业市场总体情况仍旧非常积极，且预计产出将反弹。
美国劳工部上周公布的8月非农就业报告意外爆冷，令多家机构认为，美联储12月加息的概率可能因此下降，但预计不会影响9月的缩表计划。
