美国商务部(DOC)周五(7月1日)公布，美国5月营建支出意外下滑，连续第二月下降，预估为上升，主要是受公共部门营建支出下降的拖累。4月营建支出降幅下修后进一步扩大。
详细数据显示，5月营建支出下降0.8%，至1.143万亿美元，预估为上升0.6%。4月营建支出修正后为下降2.0%，前值为下降1.8%，创2011年以来最大降幅，这可能促使经济学家下调美国第二季度经济增长预期。
该数据是由美国商务部公布，营建支出是美国月度建筑工程完工总价值的测算指标，涵盖私营和公共部门的新建工程和改善性建筑工程。数据测算包括在工程期内的劳工和原材料成本、建筑和工程工作、日常开支、利息和缴税支出，以及承包商的利润。
报告显示，5月公共部门营建指出下滑2.3%，其中州和地方建筑项目支出降幅最大，为3%，联邦一级的营建支出则实现7.5%的增长。
此外，民间项目营建支出下降0.3%，其中私人住宅项目营建指出环比持平，但非住宅项目营建支出则下降0.7%。
