亚洲地区是全球最大的实物黄金消费来源，占全球总需求的60%左右，但市场的目光一直聚焦在中国和印度身上，但事实上，其它一些国家的需求也同样不容小视。
近期泰国国内的黄金需求出现了比较明显的增长，在金价连续三年的下跌后，泰国消费者们正出手大量逢低买入。
泰国是南亚地区最大的黄金消费国，而其黄金进口也成为黄金西向东流的一大渠道。
2015年前11个月，泰国的黄金消费量增长7%达到了172吨，而其海外黄金销量则达到了120吨。
泰国最大的黄金交易商YLG Bullion International的手续执行官Pawan Nawawattanasub称，今年该企业的黄金购买量将增加大约25%至160吨。另一大泰国黄金进口商MTS Gold Group则表示，今年进口会增加超过40%自50吨。
在去年11月国际金价大跌6.8%之际，泰国的消费者们逢低买入，MTS一周就要进口1.5吨黄金来满足需求的增长。
Pawan表示：“泰国人喜欢黄金，因为这在我们的文化中，每个人都持有一些黄金，无论多少。”
MTS预计，泰国全国有约7000家金店，这个数字接近该国711便利店的总数。
