欧盟统计局周五（10月16日）公布的欧元区9月CPI年率终值是今年3月来首次录得负值，能源价格急速下滑是最大原因.加上9月贸易帐也表现不佳，欧元兑美元短线承压。
具体数据显示，欧元区9月调和消费者物价指数终值月率0.2%，前值为0%，预期值0.2%；欧元区9调和消费者物价指数总之年率-0.1%，前值-0.1%，预期值-0.1%。
路透分析称，欧元区CPI年率终值是今年3月来首次录得负值，能源价格急速下滑是最大原因；随着中国经济放缓、大宗商品大跌和欧元区借贷增速表现不佳，长期通胀预期从今年2月来已跌至最低。
除年率外，CPI月率升至4个月来高点。
年率降至负值，月率有所改善，这给欧洲央行在QE问题上增加了难度。
巴克莱称，若欧央行打算进一步扩大宽松，今年12月宣布比下周会是更好的时机；届时中国及新兴市场、美联储加息政策等外部信息更充分。
此外按计划12月欧央行将公布员工经济预测，如果不加大宽松， 将难以维持当前对2016-2017年通胀预期；不过也可能在下周暗示这一决定而在12月宣布具体措施。
