英国公布的9月消费者物价指数再次跌至负值区域，削弱了英国央行未来加息的预期。数据公布后，英镑兑美元短线下跌30多点，最低触及1.5252四天来新低。
具体数据显示：
英国9月CPI年率降至负区间，再次刷新4月以来记录低位。
路透称，此次英国通胀数据意外跌入负值区间，再次创下1960年以来的最低水平，原因是燃料价格的大幅走低，此外服装价格目前已经达到七年以来的低点，尽管英国消费需求仍较为强劲，国内薪资仍呈增长态势，但低通胀仍可能使英国央行对加息采取更为谨慎的态度。
日内稍早，酿酒业巨头百威英博(Anheuser-Busch InBev)收购南非米勒公司(SAB Miller)“原则上”已经达成一致，这也提振了英镑。英镑/美元欧市盘初最高触及1.5386，刷新三周高位。
但是受压于9月通胀数据的疲软预期，英镑随后徐徐下跌，尽数回吐涨幅。
北欧斯安银行就分析称，英国9月通胀和生产者物价指数系列数据的低迷，使得英镑或许又该走低了。
