美元本周以守势开局，但其后在良好经济数据和官员力挺加息下，得以维持上行趋势，证明并巩固了自己的强势货币地位，也给夏季沉闷的淡市平添热闹气氛。
周二华尔街日报报导称，美国亚特兰大联储总裁洛克哈特表示，美国经济要严重恶化，他才不会支持9月加息。洛克哈特被认为是中间派，也是今年拥有政策投票权的五位地方联储总裁之一，他的这番言论无疑是对美元的重大利好，美元指数因此在周三亚洲时段触及三个半月高位98.218。
据路透最新的汇率调查显示，美联储的确最早可能于下月升息，而美元未来一年能涨多少，将取决于货币政策的进程。受访的逾60位分析师中，绝大多数预期美联储在9月升息，只有四位预期12月升息。
