印度国内的黄金市场有消息称，印度政府可能在本周对便宜的印尼金饰征收关税，以帮助印度本国的金饰。
近期印度国内的实物黄金销量处在比较平淡的状态。尤其受到印度和印尼政府自由贸易协定下金饰进口的低关税冲击下。
据称，印度财政部和对外贸易部门正在和泰国等其它东南亚国家联盟国家进行自由贸易协定的重新谈判。
在自由贸易协定下，这些国家金饰的进口到印度的关税只有1%。
5月印度以1%进口的金饰从1月的400公斤大幅增加到6000公斤。据称，这些金饰被重新熔铸成金条，以贴水的形式出售。
印度的黄金进口关税目前仍然维持在10%的高水平。
