周一(5月25日)据澳大利亚矿业咨询公司瑟比顿联合公司(Surbiton Associates Pty Ltd.)公布的一份调查显示，2015年第一季度澳大利亚黄金产出量下滑7%至69吨，较上一季度减少5吨，因潮湿天气影响黄金开采活动。

对此，瑟比顿联合公司总监Dr Sandra Close分析认为，年初的潮湿天气造成黄金开采活动被扰乱，而这往往意味着，众多黄金生产商不得不处理更多的低品位金矿矿物库存，从而维持企业的产能。
在2015年，潮湿天气影响到西澳大利亚北部地区更多的黄金生产活动，而南部地区所面临的类似问题则没有那么突出。
